Book making and more...

Yesterday when we went on the nature journaling walk with our friends. My girls noticed one of the guides had made her own journal. She made a beautiful cloth cover and even binded her own book using embroidery thread. Miss 11 and Miss 9 wanted to give it a try themselves. Our guide told us she watched videos by Sea Lemon to learn how to do it. We did the same, and they turned out pretty good!

It was a time consuming process and we made mistakes along the way but in the end we had really great journals and the knowledge to do it even better the next time. Miss 9 loves to write books so I have a feeling we will be making a lot of these.

After book making I asked if they felt like doing any of their 'Learning Books'. They are the Summer Brainquest books that come with a map that my girls really love.

After that they had some screen time. Miss 11 has been really into cooking so she watched some cooking contest shows while Miss 9 watched some Odd Squad. All in all a great day! <3
